Breast Health Centre
The Breast Health Center provides comprehensive services in one location offering efficient, convenient and high quality care for breast cancer patients. Our expertise includes breast imaging, biopsy, diagnosis, risk assessment, surgical planning and support for patients in a caring environment. The Breast Clinic provides surgical consultation services to patients and their families with nursing and navigation support.
The patient experience will be enhanced by allowing individuals to choose their environment during the mammography exam. The Sensory suite environment of Seaside, Garden or Waterfall distracts the patient, reducing anxiety from any anticipated discomfort.

- Digital DR Mammography units with 3-D Tomosynthesis technology
- Bone Mineral Densitometry unit
- Ultrasound units
Referral by physician required. Patients who are participating in the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) may book appointments directly calling the Breast Health Clinic 416 242-1000 ext. 63630.
Located on the 2nd floor, use the East Outpatient elevators. The East Parkade is the closest parking lot.

Mammography is the use of low energy x-rays to image breast tissue, our units use tomosynthesis technology which produces high resolution reconstructed CT-like images improving the ability of the radiologist to differentiate tissue of similar density and structure. Common clinical applications include the assessment of lesions, screening tool for asymptomatic patients, biopsy and needle localization procedures.

Bone Mineral Densitometry or BMD:
BMD is the use of x-rays to measure bone mineral density. Common clinical applications include the diagnosis and follow up for osteoporosis. HRH has one Bone Mineral Densitometry unit.
Ultrasound is the use of high frequency sound waves to provide images of the body. Common clinical applications include breast imaging and breast biopsies.
