Humber River provides care for patients with gastroenterology (GI) conditions and diabetes.
Our Endoscopy Outpatient Clinic is one of the finest in the province; and was Ontario’s first community hospital to use an ultrasonic gastro fiberscope to diagnose and treat cancer of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas and colon. Dr. Ted Ptak, an HRH gastroenterologist, first introduced the procedure to the hospital; has championed its introduction to hospitals province-wide and lectured on the subject internationally.
The Endoscopy unit provides services like Endoscopic ultrasounds (EUS), Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), colonoscopy, gastroscopy, capsule Endoscopy, Motility, pH study and bronchoscopy for in-patients and out-patients.
