General Radiography

x-rayGeneral Radiography includes Radiography and Fluoroscopy.

Radiography is the use of x-rays to acquire two dimensional images of the body. Common clinical applications include chest x-rays for lung pathology, skeletal studies for fractures or dislocations and abdomen exams to assess for obstruction, free air or fluid.

Fluoroscopy is the use of x-rays allowing real-time visualization of body structures. Common clinical applications include joint arthrograms, swallowing studies, cystoscopy procedures and surgical skeletal reductions, repair or replacement.

HRH will have the following new radiology and fluoroscopy equipment:

  • 7 Digital Radiography rooms
  • 3 Multipurpose Fluoroscopy rooms
  • 6 Portable Digital Radiography X-ray units
  • 5 Portable Fluoroscopy C-arm units
  • 1 Digital Panorex Dental unit

Referral by physician is required.
