ROSA was introduced to Humber in October 2020. This exciting new technology allows surgeons to pre-plan your knee replacement more accurately. In addition, it helps to make personalized decisions intra-operatively and guide overall alignment of the knee replacement. This is a huge technological leap forward, and a Canadian “first”!

The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has introduced new care plans for all patients having elective hip, knee, and shoulder replacement surgery. These plans are quite different from what you might have experienced or heard of in the past. The goal is to help you transition more smoothly out of the hospital and into your home, where you can recover as quickly and as safely as possible.

Pre-Operative Education Resources

Before your surgery, please review the Patient Guide Booklet below to help prepare for your upcoming surgery. The booklet covers your entire surgical journey, including what you can expect before and after surgery, equipment you may need, how to prepare your home, and arranging support in the home. There are several appendices in the booklet with additional resources, such as transportation services, healthcare equipment stores, and your home exercise physiotherapy program.
