Dr. El-Sayed is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with certification in Paediatrics and is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and holds American Board certification in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

Dr. El-Sayed completed her residency training in Paediatrics at McMaster University, her Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Toronto and leadership training with the American Academy of Paediatrics.

Dr. El-Sayed has a special interest in advanced neonatal care, quality improvement and patient safety. She assumed the position of NICU director at Niagara Health before joining Humber River Health.
