This service is a specialized inter-professional team that provides evidence-based pain and symptom management to post-operative inpatients. The team collaborates with surgical services to maximize patient’s comfort, satisfaction and recovery.

Partnership with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. We transfer patients experiencing heart attacks to Sunnybrook for specialized treatment.
Code Stroke Care program
Partnership with Toronto Western Hospital. We transfer patients experiencing strokes to Toronto Western for specialized treatment.
Computed Tomography (CT) scans
Medical Imaging CT scanners use x-rays to produce 2D or 3D images of parts of your body. Our new machines are bariatric-friendly and are quieter than standard units.
Critical Care Response Team
Our CCRT helps enhance patient safety by increasing access to critical care across the hospital. Comprised of specially trained physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists, the CCRT exports the skills of the ICU to empower healthcare professionals to act when they feel that a patient has the potential to become critically ill.

Laboratory services assists every department in the hospital. Our dedicated team, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment assists health providers to diagnose diseases in blood, tissues and fluids. Our laboratory staff work collaboratively throughout our hospital to ensure timely and accurate results and diagnosis.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Medical Imaging An MRI a strong magnetic field to generate images of your body. It takes pictures of parts of the body that don’t show up well in x-rays, CT scans or ultrasounds. Our MRI units are bariatric-friendly and quieter than most machines.
Midwifery Services – West End Midwives
For Midwife patients at Humber River Health, the midwife, provides independent continuum midwifery services throughout pregnancy, labour, and birth. As the midwife remains in attendance for 2-4 hours following delivery, immediate postpartum care for the mother and baby will be done by the midwife. Mobile Crisis Intervention Team
The MCIT responds to mental health emergencies in our community. A uniformed police officer and a mental health nurse from Humber River Health provides skilled and compassionate care in emergencies.
Nuclear medicine takes images of many parts of the body, including the lungs, heart and skeletal system.
Nurse-led outreach team
These nurses support long-term care homes to help prevent emergency department visits.

Psychogeriatric outreach team
This team is composed of nurses with expertise in psychogeriatrics, along with a psychogeriatrician. Together, they provide assessment, treatment and short-term follow-up for residents over 65 years old.

Self-care dialysis gives patients more independence in their treatments who do not wish to perform at-home treatments. Treatments are provided at independent dialysis centres.
