Smoke-Free Facility

Humber River Health wants to preserve the health of its patients, visitors, staff, physicians, volunteers and community by being 100 percent Smoke-Free.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on Humber River property, including parking lots, entrances and exits. Formerly designated smoking areas are closed at all three HRH sites. Anyone wishing to smoke is required to leave hospital grounds.

Humber River is a proud supporter of Smoke-Free Ontario and joins many hospitals, businesses and organizations across Ontario in implementing this important initiative.

What this means for our Patients:

For the comfort of Humber River inpatients who smoke and cannot do so while receiving care; or for inpatients who prefer not to leave hospital property to smoke, Humber River offers a comprehensive Inpatient Smoking Cessation Support Program, including Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) during your hospital stay by arrangement with your physician. If you are interested in quitting smoking, please inform your nurse or care provider.
