Special Air Quality Statement

Environment Canada has issued the following Special Air Quality Statement due to the ongoing wildfires in northwestern Ontario:
- Reduce outdoor activities. Reschedule or cancel outdoor sports, activities and events.
- Stay inside if you are feeling unwell and experiencing symptoms, which include shortness of breath, wheezing (including asthma attacks), severe cough, dizziness, or chest pains.
- Keep your doors and windows closed.
- If you must spend time outdoors, a well-fitted N95 mask can help reduce your exposure to the fine particles in smoke.
People more likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should avoid strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.
