Information Technology (IT) Professionals Day is celebrated annually on the third Tuesday of September. At Hennick Humber Hospital (HHH), we recognize the dedicated teams and individuals who keep our technology, systems, and communications running, as the backbone of our digital infrastructure. From digital learning and improving workflows to keeping the hospital connected around the clock, their work is important in supporting staff and patient care.
Meet some of the team below:
Robert Guo
Robert Guo, Digital Learning Instructor, joined Hennick Humber Hospital in January 2025. His role goes beyond training and technical support. Robert helps drive the adoption of Microsoft 365 across the organization and develops learning resources, while maintaining the M365 Knowledge Hub to support emerging technologies such as Microsoft Copilot.
For Robert, one of the most rewarding parts of his work is helping others become more confident with technology. “I have always enjoyed helping others and seeing that ‘aha’ moment when something finally clicks,” Robert shares. With technology constantly evolving, he enjoys having new opportunities to learn, share his knowledge, and help staff work more efficiently and effectively.
David Paniccia
David Paniccia, Information Systems Analyst, works closely with clinical and administrative teams to bridge the gap between technology and people. Whether troubleshooting system issues, supporting upgrades, reviewing enhancement requests or finding ways to improve workflows, David helps ensure staff have the tools and information they need to provide exceptional care.
“What I enjoy most is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare,” David says. “IT in a hospital is different from many other industries because the work we do supports the people who care for patients.”
Locating Team
Our Locating Team also plays an integral role in keeping the Hospital connected, as it is often the organization’s first point of contact. Available 24/7, the team transfers calls, contacts on-call physicians, and responds to a wide range of requests. With extensive knowledge, professionalism, and strong multitasking skills, the team manages an average of 50,000 calls every month.
This IT Professionals Day, we thank all our IT professionals for the important work they do to support our people, our organization, and the delivery of exceptional patient care.
