Dr. Priya Sood named Postgraduate Program Director for Family Medicine Residency Program at Humber River Health

Dr. Priya Sood will be joining Humber River Health as the Postgraduate Program Director for Family Medicine Residency Program in the Humber Family Medicine Teaching Unit starting in January 2023.

With over ten years of medical education leadership experience, Dr. Sood most recently held the role of Postgraduate Program Director and previously served as Undergraduate Program Director at Unity Health Toronto – St. Joseph’s Health Centre Family Medicine Teaching Unit site within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine – Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) program.

Dr. Sood is leading the establishment of Humber River Health’s Family Medicine Teaching Unit, which will begin seeing patients in April 2023 and accepting residents to start in July 2023. She is committed to developing a residency program centred on research, diversity, and equitable community-based family medicine. As a recognized academic leader in family medicine, she was recommended for and is currently enrolled in the Family Doctor Leadership Masterclass at the University of Toronto DFCM.

Dr. Sood is a Full Time Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto DFCM with a clinical focus on comprehensive family medicine practice and inpatient palliative care.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Sood to Humber and looking forward to working with her towards the establishment of this program at Humber to teach residents and provide comprehensive primary care in our community.
