As Toronto prepares to welcome visitors from around the world for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, Ontario’s health system is ready to support residents, visitors, match attendees, and community members throughout the tournament from June 11 to July 19.

Health system partners across Toronto and the GTA have been preparing for FWC26 since February 2025 to support access to care, emergency preparedness and system readiness.

Access to Care During the Tournament
Our community can continue to access care as usual through their primary care team, walk-in clinics, or calling Ontario Health 811 for help finding nearby care. If you require urgent or emergency care, please do not delay seeking care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the closest Emergency Department.

On-Site Care for Events
Those attending FIFA World Cup matches at Toronto Stadium and FanFest™ events across the city will have access to on-site first aid and medical services provided by Toronto Paramedic Services.

If additional care is required, paramedics will follow established protocols to connect patients with nearby hospitals, ensuring seamless transitions to higher levels of care.

Travel Impacts and Planning Ahead
From June 11 to July 19, increased traffic, road closures, and transit delays are expected across Toronto, including near Hennick Humber Hospital, our Finch Campus, and our Church Campus.

Patients and visitors planning to attend appointments or visit loved ones are encouraged to allow extra travel time, check traffic and transit updates before leaving, and plan routes ahead of time.

Humber River Health remains focused on protecting the population, minimizing impacts to the health system, and continuing to provide high-quality care to patients throughout the tournament.
